I've got it.

So now that we've got rid of our old slogan, I think I have a new one that fits very nicely and should always  be a guarantee!

Ready for this???

Utah! (almost) the most amazing and beautiful sunsets on earth!

I love Utah sunsets. They can be absolutely gorgeous.

Here's a couple random pictures of different sunsets from the porch of my abode.

okay, so this one isn't from my porch.

my favorite.

Christmas and such

This is what I got (if I don't seem excited about some of these, I really am. I just can't express myself well) :

A pair of brown boots - very cute

A scarf and shirt - also extremely cute!

Headband/clips - it's nice to have something to put in my hair to fix it up a bit

BYU hat/lanyard (spelling?) - finally! Took me long enough to get a hat. ANd the lanyard is really soft...I
   like it

Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop) - ST.OK.ED. I can't express how excited I am for this! Thank you Kevin!!!

A cardagen...gon... (spelling???) - from target. It's nice to have one of those too.

A camera necklace - perfect. A necklace I will actually wear besides my YW medallion.

I think that pretty much sums it up.....

                            ----------------------------------------

There is still no snow. I'm giving it one more chance to come down on New Year's Eve. Other than that, I no longer want it to visit. It would be nice to get something though.

                            -----------------------------------------

BYU game tonight. Which means we get to watch Matt Carlino play. From the first time I saw him on the court he reminded me of Jimmer his sophomore year, so that makes me extremely excited.

Come on Cougs! We can beat St. Mary's!

Then the bowl game is tomorrow! With Riley Nelson as the Quarterback ( I still think Heaps should have stayed...) we will beat Tulsa :) Too bad it's at 10 in the darn morning. Who does that? The only people watching will be BYU fans. Ohhh well, it will be a good one.

*those BYU leftys....they just make me happy*

                           ------------------------------------------
Game night anyone? Well...game afternoon and night I guess. Party starts this afternoon. 3 o'clock. Possibly 5? I don't even know.

                          ---------------------------------------

I have to read "The Age of Innocence" (or is it underlined?) by Tuesday. I'm about....3 pages in. I am the Duchess of Procrastination.  Wish me luck.

                         ----------------------------------------

Have a great day!

Utah!

The greatest snow on earth!

I think it's time we hand that slogan over to Colorado or something....we don't need it anymore.

David Archuleta. Stud. Handsome Man. Angel. Oh, and a missionary.

Last night, as a part of my Christmas presents, me and my mom went to David Archuleta's Chrimstmas concert. It was amazing and I very much enjoyed it. I felt like it was me, and then a bunch of old people (no offense mom, of course). They had their opera glasses and probably no ear plugs. I think they were thinking it was going to be the David and Tab Choir version :) As my mom said, "I'm sure some of them were in for a shock with some of his pop music and loud Christmas songs". Haha! Funny thought. David looked very handsome in his outfits :) I liked the first one a lot better, but the change for the 2nd half was nice also. I loved his awkward, but cute dancing on stage. It's an improvement from the American Idol times! ;) There were many screaming girls there, more in the front ( I was in the back, with the old people. Remember?). I did not scream. Until the end.... :D :D :D David had teamed up with a charity for the tour to help out children all around the world. And if you sponsored a child that night you got a David Archuleta ornament! Haha, when he announced that he slowly pulled it out of his pocket and said it kind of awkwardly. It was pretty funny :) So the concert was super overall! Especially the end....I would have paid the money just for the encore part of the performance. (If you don't know what i'm talking about, you will soon).

I was planning on uploading videos that I recorded from the concert but it won't let me! I will figure it out hopefully...there are at least 2 or 3 that I want to share. One was where he starting crying when he was talking about his family (talk about a heart melter right there) and one where he sang with his mom and had 4 little kids come up on stage to dance with them. It was a really fun number. Yes...very enjoyable.

In the mean time, would you like to see the pictures me and my mom attempted to take during intermission? I don't know if we got one decent one...

eh.

hey mom!

um...

not horrible...

um. Awkward.

This is the best one. Hands down.

lets try this angle over here!

Mom: "its good for me, but bad for you"

fine. We are going back to the front then. Still not super of either of us

"Okay, one more then we are done" and we were done.
I can't believe I put those pictures up. Mom, don't kill me, it's embarrassing for me too. But the overall on these photographs...I give them a D. For me. Mom, you can choose your own grade :)

Okay, now THIS video is a MUST watch. It's great. And it was ever BETTER in person. If you can imagine that

Yeah...that's when I starting screaming uncontrollably. Did I cry? Yup, a little bit ( let me be emotional every once in a while). Is he going to be the best missionary ever!? Probably. :) Way to go David, I support you 100,000,000%!

My heart beats like crazy just thinking about his moment. Cheeeesy. Oh well, it's true :D

Temple Square(d) times a lot

Temple temple temple temple temple temple....most of these are SFTC (straight from the camera) pictures. Only a couple have been played with a bit. They aren't super pictures, I just love the temple :) (this is the one i'm getting married in. Unless I somehow become rich and can fly my whole family to San Diego. Ha.)

I don't know why Mary and Joseph are so white! I didn't realize until I saw the pictures on the computer....

It might be hard to tell the difference between these two...but the bottom has a mosaic filter thing. If you click on the pictures and make it big you can tell

not the greatest angle/shot.

I love this picture. I just wish it was more straight and in focus :(

This one again...I don't know if there is a difference. I didn't even realize I posted it twice.  But I'm keeping it

Aaahhh...

...Christmas Break...

Took you long enough.  Snow, now it's your turn.

(I was just going to post some pictures. However, I believe someone removed my USB without ejecting it and therefore, it is ruined and not working. I'm trying to control my anger. I should probably lock myself in my room for the night so I don't freak out at anyone.)

Thursday, December 15, 2011

I've been doing my lens research. And I've changed my mind about the lens that I want. And the price shot up faster than I can type "yo" (I don't know why I picked that word).

I will have to save my money like crazy. For the camera, the lens, school, etc (this throws housing out of the running. Hm.).

I don't know if I could live with just a 50mm lens for very long. Not being able to zoom at all would absolutely kill me.

Would anyone like to donate a free lens, camera, or $1,000 to me? Perfect. Thanks.

I think this week needs to end. Pronto.

So...this blog is supposed to be partially pictures, right? I will post  some this week :) Hopefully. I just need to use photoshop and a certain sisters computer...

They will probably all be pictures of the Salt Lake Temple. Just sayin'.

Question. You know how teachers are always telling you that "there is no dumb question; ask away; give any answer! It's always accepted and you should not feel stupid (unless it is a completely stupid answer)"?

Why do they get mad at you when you answer wrong then? And make you feel extremely stupid...?

That happened to me the other day. I answered yes. but the answer was no. The teacher made me feel pretty awkward...

"don't you be saying yes, Miss Hall. Because it definitely isn't"

Oh. Sorry...I answered before you finished the question. My bad.

And that, my friends, is why I don't participate in class discussion 99.9% of the time.

Christmas Break...you are almost here. Run a bit faster

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Dear Jack,

Okay...you can come down now. I know I told you to go away and never come back, but I didn't really mean it. After all,it was a year ago. The truth is that it just isn't the same without you here;mainly because it's that time of the season where you are really needed. You don't have to stay long; just a month. You make Christmas come alive. I also like to have you in my pictures. You add a certain excitement to them. And let me tell ya, going sledding without you is NO FUN. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't feel right going down that hill not having you there to slide me along. So here is my final plea: come back for just a little while. If you promise not to hurt anyone then maybe we will want you to stay a bit longer. Complete our Christmas.

Seriously. Snow, you better get here quick. I expect your arrival by Monday morning. You will be welcome on Sunday too, of course

Someone who needs your magic,

Caitlin

dumb mustard.

Yesterday for dinner I had Subway and asked (obviously not thinking) for mustard. Because it's standard, and I love mustard. After I asked for it I thought that I should probably say " I don't want mustard. " But I did not. I cringed (spelling?) when he loaded the amount of that sauce onto my sandwich. She put on much more than necessary.

I ate the sub anyway. Afterwards, I turned to my friend Jess and asked if there was anything in my teeth or if my braces (with clear bands) were clean.

"looks good!" she said.

ha.

I woke up this morning, looked at my teeth and the top bands where more yellow than the bright sun up above. Joy to the world.

I got to school, showed Jess my teeth and again she said they weren't bad and that I was too paranoid.
but my mother told me they were pretty yellow...and did that little "oh dear" laugh.

I tried not to smile the rest of the school day, but I completely failed. It's hard not to laugh or smile when you have guys trying to force you to.

I tried brushing my teeth with baking soda a couple times (disgusting.) then I did normal toothpaste for a while and it got a little better...but not much. School needs to end for the break now or my ortho appointment needs to come quicker.

this random girl at my school (I have never ever seen her before) came up to me and told me how beautiful my hair looked. I like her. It definitely made my day awesome and (believe it or not) made me forget about my yellow teeth for a while. Wondering how my hair was? It was the waterfall braid. Discovered it this summer.
definitely not the best picture. but you can kind of see it. I need more natural light...

excuse the fly aways and split ends

I can still taste the baking soda.

see my earings? the one on the left is a boy, the right, a girl. They kiss if you take them out and put them together :)
see? :D

New Goal

I MUST go to New York city sometime in the Christmas season.

Yeah, it is going to happen

Monday, December 5, 2011

pretty sure it can't get any more adorable than this...

From
...sigh...

Today. And Mormon Message Monday

I have a lot of piano to practice. 1 hour down, 1 more to go (you can do it!)

My feelings got hurt too easy. Chiiiill Kk.

Christmas tree up? si. and it's real. And not a themed tree. Unless you count random as a theme

Snow? No. You  need to come faster so that it feels like Christmas is here

My teacher swore at us today. I was on the verge of bursting out with laughter but thought better of it. I would have REALLY been sworn at then

I want to know what my sister got me for Christmas....I have NO idea.

Jake Heaps is transferring. Mmmm...I think he should stay and just red shirt next year. Riley, please do not get hurt.

Temple square tomorrow. WoOT.

I was late to school. When it's an A day and a monday at the same time, being there when class first starts never happens. Usually I just forget it starts earlier. Today however...haha. I was savoring my sleep

AMAZING Christmas Devotional last night. Glad I got to go :) I love the first presidency

Wuthering Heights. Hate the book. Everyone is absolutely insane except Edgar. He is normal

Government class. One of the most boring, yet entertaining classes I've had...

In a quick choir practice today after school, I got sent out twice into the hall for talking. Don't worry, it was along with about 150 other people the first time, then only the altos the second time. Not just me :)

It's amazing...the effect music has on you.

Red heads... enough said.

Ward Party leftovers

I wore pants today. I was too cold for a skirt and didn't want to put on tights. I know, I'm lazy

I love Christmas :D

December

It's OFFICIALLY Christmas season. And although I have been listening to Christmas music for 3 weeks (don't shoot me) I'm still super stoked to listen to those that I have not listened to. The ones that are totally sacred and meant only for december. Aaaand a week and a half after Christmas. Those would be Kenny G, Harry, Amy, Al Green, etc. I have been listening to mainly the radio weirdness and the angel David A (that's who I'm listening to right now).

Now that it's December I thought I would put some things that have belonged to this month since I was a kid. Some things I will list are things that we don't do anymore. I will mark those with a *. Let the list begin

Amy Grant
Harry Connick Jr.
Kenny G
Mannheim steamroller
pretzels
mint M&M's
mint kisses
get and decorate our real tree on the first saturday of Dec.
singing on the 3rd Sunday
Luke 2
* reenacting (spelling?) Luke 2 (being Mary was pretty much the best. Getting to ride in on someones back carrying my doll...yep. That was the way to go)
White Christmas (movie)
wassail
neighbor treats
snow
*performances by the kids
fire place
cinnamon
gingerbread cookie decorating
*getting a picture with Santa/ seeing him at the mall
*looking for Rudolphs nose (thanks to Bethany)
*reading a Christmas book every night with mom
christmas puzzles
presents
*surprise presents
sledding
the Chipmunk song
*drawing names from a bowl
Christmas Eve dinner
egg nog with sprite
waking up early and waiting on the stairs
driving around looking at lights
temple square
opening presents youngest to oldest
*"We Three C's"

That's all I can think of at the moment. Then there has been a couple things added in like R&B Christmas mix, rotating names, knowing my presents, David Archuleta, etc etc.

I was going to initiate December in with these, but I didn't have time. Tomorrow maybe?

Some boys act like girls and get offended like that (*fingers snapping*) (and name that movie) and bring to pass ridiculously stupid drama. It's super annoying. Just throwing that out there.

Yay for manly men! :D

And yes, next year I'm waiting until December to listen to that magical music. Or at least after Thanksgiving, because it does make it a lot more exciting. Darn giving into temptation(s) (haha...get it?)
