Gentlemen do still exist; what a relief.

Yesterday I was walking to the library (after my amazing nap) and as I was going for the door a man lurched in front of me and grabbed the door and opened it.

"Thank you" I said

"You're welcome" said he

I went on to the next set of double doors. I didn't expect him to come leaping over to open the door for me again; but he did.

"Thanks" I said with a bigger smile than before (It was super nice of him)

"You're welcome! I really like your boots"

"Thank you"

"It's chilly outside today, huh?"

"Yeah, it is a little chilly"

Then we parted ways and we said goodbye.

This guy was a little shy and awkward. He had his head down and turned toward me when he talked with a bit of a hunched over back. Although he wasn't some handsome manly man that gave me butterflies, it still made my day. :)

Bravo for being a gentleman.

took this on instagram. I wish I had my real camera as well. I made Jess stop in the car so I could take it. It was seriously a picture waiting to be taken! (too bad the other cars are in the background)

Just right

I took a nap today that lasted 2 hours. It was nice. My first real nap since college started. I've tried to keep from napping at all, because then I can't get to sleep at night. So I will tell myself that a nap isn't worth and slap myself awake when I start to fall asleep.

Today, however, I gave in. And I loved it.

It wasn't too short, which gives me headaches. It wasn't too long, which also gives me headaches. It was the perfect 2 hours.

My hair is bent and mis-shaped, and the makeup on the left side of my face is mostly gone. I've got to head to class.

Clip in what???

http://www.thedaybookblog.com/2012/10/she-bangs.html

Not completely sure how I feel about these. Half of me says "genius" while the other half says "what. In the world"

Maybe I should get some of those handy dandy clip ins. I've been asking myself the same question on what to do with my hair. I could REALLY trip some people up with those. Maybe I'll get them.

(trip people up? Is that the right expression? If so, where did it come from??? Trip people up....hm)

Haha

via Mormon Probs on Facebook
A kid sitting next to me and a friend in American Heritage stated (after the professor mentioned all the girls leaving): "Seriously. Who am I going to date?!"

It's true. The 21 year olds are gone or leaving and the 19 and 20 year olds are leaving soon as well! (not all, of course). So. Guy who said that, there will still be people to date. No worries. It just won't be as big of a pool to fish from.

So girls, if you want to get married, now's the perfect time ;)

Mission, here I come!

I know. EVERYONE is blogging, posting, and tweeting about this. But the announcement that worthy LDS young women who are 19 can go on a mission is incredible. It's an answer to my silent thoughts and prayers. And the fact that this announcement was made the week I turn 19 makes it all that more exciting! Serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is going to be PRIME.

When President Monson was announcing this super awesome announcement, I was assuming he would be lowering the age to 20 instead of 21; since he just lowered the boys age from 19 to 18. When he said girls could serve at 19 I could not believe it. I started crying and kept saying "Oh shoot, oh shoot, oh shoot" over and over again. I was in shock and had no idea what in the world I was going to do. Shortly after I was able to calm down and think. I realized what a blessing this will be for not only me, but a ton of other women out there and I knew I was supposed to leave when prompted to do so, and I knew that would be very soon.

While I'm not sure whether I will be going to school next semester or not, I do know that with in 7 months I should be gone. It's scary and I don't know what's in store for me or where I'll go, but at the same time I am amazed and completely excited at this opportunity.

Going from thinking I will be leaving on my mission in two years, to knowing that I will be not here this time next year (with in 3 seconds time) is crazy! Good crazy of course. :D

Last night I pulled out my scriptures and read Doctrine & Covenants chapter 4:

Section 4

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to his father, Joseph Smith, Sr., at Harmony, Pennsylvania, February 1829 (see History of the Church, 1:28).
1–4, Valiant service saves the Lord’s ministers; 5–6, Godly attributes qualify them for the ministry; 7, The things of God must be sought after.
1 Now behold, a amarvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the aservice of God, see that yebserve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand cblameless before God at the last day.
 3 Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are acalled to the work;
 4 For behold the afield is white already to bharvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up incstore that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;
5 And afaith, bhope, ccharity and dlove, with an eeye single to thefglory of God, gqualify him for the work.
6 Remember faith, avirtue, knowledge, btemperance, cpatience, dbrotherly ekindness, fgodliness, charity, ghumility, hdiligence.
7 aAsk, and ye shall receive; bknock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.

I know this gospel is true and I am so privileged to be able to have the chance serve as a full time missionary for the church.

The church is indeed true, people. I know it. :D

Dear man I just saw at the creamery,

You have the most amazing eyes. Seriously. I was having a hard time not just staring at them.
Your face was quite  good looking as well. Feel free to be in the same place as me on campus and somehow remember me and than randomly come up to me and ask for my phone number. I would give it to you.

Sincerely,

The girl you just saw at the creamery
