Preference 2012

About a month ago I asked a boy to Preference.  I tied string to a balloon so that it went REALLY high. It was SUPER high....then everything got tangled. So we had to make it shorter. I went and door  bell ditched the balloon and a plate of cookies (that I made that were completely horrible and I felt bad giving those to him. But I didn't have time to make more). As you pulled down the balloon there were note cards that said "WILL"...."YOU"...."GO"....etc, etc. My  name was at the top.

A couple of weeks later I was called on the phone
"hello?"
"do you have warm clothes?"
"...uh....yes"
"alright. follow the iron rod" *click*

I put on some boots and a jacket and took Cameron with me and went outside. Tied to the porch railing was a string with a note card that said "NO". I followed the string all around my neighborhood. It was a lot of string (...down the street, down the next street, down the hill, up the hil, back down, over, up the hill, over, up another hill...)   All together it ended up being "No-thing- would-make-me-feel-more-at-home-than-going-to-pref-erence-with-you". Or something to that extent. Then there was an extremely cute gingerbread house at the end of the string. Across the street from my home. At least I got some exercise, right?

The string was still in around the hood after a week. Then it got tied to someone's car :D I didn't tie it, promise.

So last Saturday we went on this date. We didn't do a day date, just pictures, dinner and the dance. Pictures were done by a dad in the group (thank you!) in a room at BYU. We had a 'fiesta' themed dinner with decorations, enchiladas (spelling?), and latin music. And then the dance, was an extremely great party. Lets just say a new dance move was created (by my date, thank you very much) called The Crab. It's just something you have to see :)

It was the best over-all dance experience ever :)

me and my amazing date
and there we are again in b&w

the group! (it was an awesome group by the way!)

MV Fundraising concert!!! happy day

I am posting the email I sent (or may not have) to people. Maybe I can get some kind of response.. it's a far fetched dream but I'm going for it!

Hello. One and all

MV's fundraising choir concert is coming up in Feb. on the 17th and 18th (don't quote me on that. I know its the friday and saturday of that week at least...). The performances are at 7 both nights, and then there is a matinee on the saturday performance at 2. Tickets are $10 each, and I know that's a lot but $7 of it goes to me for choir tour (yay!), so you would get to help a sister out WHILE watching an awesome choir production! :) the theme is "a night at the movies" and all the choirs (and students in speciality numbers) are singing a  bunch of different numbers from random movies and there will be dancing, and costumes, and fun!

If you do decide to come, and to come for the matinee, there is a family deal available. It's $40 for up to 7 people in the family (meaning living in the house). And that's only offered for the matinee.

So if you would like to go please let me know soon and I can get those tickets for you!!!

Also, if you or anyone you know is interested in putting a business ad in the program, then you can buy space! (Linc? Beth? Lor? Etc...) And if you have friends with a business let them know too!

A full page ad costs $100, Half page $50, and then quarter page is $25. The size is the average size of a program....like a church program. Not sure exactly on the measurements. The ads would be in black and white and there over 1,000 programs printed and given out so lots of people will see it! (money from this will also go towards my tour...I would have to check how much of it if you really want to know)

Please let me know ASAP if  you want one or the other or BOTH! Thank you!!! and let all your friends know about both of them too!

Wow. Sorry I sound like one of 'those people'. Bleh.

Kk-kachay

p.s. getting letters in the mail is the absolute bomb! Next time you desire to tell me a story or if you are just bored, send a letter on over. With a stamp. And wavy ink. And orange numbers and symbols at the bottom of the envelope. Thanks.

???

What if I changed my blog name???

I have a couple ideas, but still deciding.

I would like an IPhone

..not because it's the cool, popular thing to have. But Because I would like to take pictures of different things I see (random or for ideas) without having to carry my camera around everywhere.

So mom, how about it? :)

Pleasures and Monkeys

I love those moments when you are driving on the freeway and you see yourself coming upon a nice car.

You get a little closer and you see that it is a sleek, black, too low for MV parking lot Mustang (no, the guy did not have a mustache...but he was probably listening to Mozart. Inside joke).

You then continue to slowly drive past that car, not looking to the side but keeping your eyes straight ahead, and have a slow, smug, side smile (alliteration! I've been doing english homework...) come to your face. Along with the thought of

ha!

in  your head.

Those are the moments in life that make you feel like you are the coolest person in this little county.

Yay for little pleasures!
      -----------------------------------------------

Today I was playing hide and seek with my niece and nephew and the nephew was counting. He could not find me or the niece in question. As he was coming down the stairs I heard him whisper to himself:

"cheeky monkeys..."

It was hard not to laugh, but I had a pretty good hiding spot and I didn't want to give it away too soon.

I blame the 'Ken Face' family.

My Turn...

Everyone else is posting about the new year (now 2 days old! wow...time goes by fast) so I thought I would put in my thoughts.

I have never, ever made any serious 'New Year's Resolutions', they have just been hopes. For example: Take a family trip to Hawaii (ha!), not procrastinate school work (ha. ha. ) and break the law in one way shape or form (that one I just can't do. I'm too much of a 'i can't get into trouble' girl).

So this year, ladies and gentlemen, i've decided to make real and practical resolutions! Only a couple though. And they are pretty much bound to happen. Would you like to know what they are???

I thought you might.

1. Graduate - if this could come any faster I would not complain about school for a whole 3 months, I promise. People have always talked about having "senioritus" as if it was a real disease, and I thought it was a little ridiculous. But I am alive and semi-well to tell you that it is a real, true, living disease. And I have it. But it's not necessarily the school work ( although that definitely is a part of it) as much as it is the people....please people, take no offense. Maybe it's not so much the people as it is the drama that comes along with them. Whatever it is, I'm ready to be done with it. I'm ready for college.
...   ...   ... woh. I never thought I would say that (or type it).

2. Get a camera that I really really really like or love. - That Canon that I'm constantly talking about...that's what I'm getting. I hoping to save up money and combine it with my graduation present money so that I can get it (another reason to graduate quickly)!

3. Eat Healthy and exercise more - I know I know I know, everybody and their dog says that. But I really need to do this. I exercise on an average of once every month or two, and my eating habits are not super (they are getting better though! Be proud). I just want to feel good for the year 2012 :)

4. More diligent piano practice - I don't think this one needs any explanation.

5. Get into BYU - this goal is pretty  much beyond my control. But BYU, you can help me out on this one :)

and my totally out there goal:

6. First Kiss? - Haha! ( I made you laugh, right?)  I don't plan on this one :) To be honest, I'm scared as heck for my first kiss. It's a good thing I don't have to deal with it for a while :D

Well...There you go. That's all. Aaaand just kidding. One more.

7. Braces off - PLEASE. please please please please please. Before choir tour. Or at least before Prom. I dis - like these things with passion.

Okay, that's really all. I now need to go read 100 more pages of my AP novel that is due tomorrow. I just needed a break from it (I just read about 120 pages).

You know what? I'm liking this weather :) Now that December is over there is no need for snow, and I'm all for the sun! I am READY for summer.

Watch this, it will be May 31st and we will get 6 inches of snow. Ha! That's a funny joke. But I wouldn't care to hear it again.
